Professor Tak Hong Lee FKC

King’s was very sorry to learn of the passing of alumnus Professor Tak Hong Lee CBE MD ScD FRCP FRCPath FMedSci FKC (Medicine, 1975) on 26 August 2022, who had an illustrious, 23-year-long career at King’s and Guy’s.

Professor Lee studied Medicine at King’s, graduating in 1975. He had a pioneering career in medicine across three continents, and will be remembered for his breakthroughs on treating allergies and dedication to his patients. His commitment led to a number of awards and accolades, including a CBE appointed by the late Queen Elizabeth II in her Birthday Honours List of 2012.

We understand that Professor Lee died peacefully in the early hours of 26 August 2022 at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Hong Kong with family at his bedside, knowing that he was greatly loved.
