International Corporate and Commercial Law LLM, 2020
Major health concerns and the challenges of the COVID pandemic may not seem the best background to launch a start-up. But that didn't stop Claudia creating iScribo. This sophisticated Artificial Intelligence platform analyses text and corrects grammar and syntax, making text clear and easy to read. The current version is for Spanish, the second most-spoken language in the world after Mandarin. iScribo employs linguists, processing experts, communicators and marketing specialists.
Salim Nuqul
International Affairs, 2022
Over the past two years, Salim has worked with the United States Agency for International Development. Serving as a consultant and trainer, he has played a key role in implementing a capacity-building initiative for public health sector managerial staff within the Ministry of Health and Royal Medical Services across Jordan. Beneficiaries of the scheme, overseen by the World Health Organization, include doctors, pharmacists and nurses. The project has advanced the quality of healthcare services in the country.
Farah Naz
Philosophy, 1990
Farah is a successful psychotherapist and trainer, and a compassionate advocate for better mental health and wellbeing. Following the murder of her niece, Zara Aleena, in 2022, she is also a visible and vocal campaigner on the topic of male violence against women. Her work includes appearing on TV and other UK media. She also organised a silent march through Ilford to pay tribute to Zara and all women killed by acts of male violence.
Pearl Wasif
MSC Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy, 2018
Following graduation, Pearl has been working at Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland-Medical University of Bahrain as a Research Regulatory Affairs Manager. She leads the clinical trials unit and has carried out trials during the pandemic. The author of two major publications in the treatment of COVID, she was awarded the University's Research Excellence Award. In 2018, Pearl also established her own clinic, Pearl Physiotherapy Center. She is the first Bahraini woman to be licensed as a Specialised Physiotherapist by the country's national health regulatory authority.
Theo Dan
Undergraduate Philosophy, Politics & Economics student
Theo is taking the rugby world by storm. He currently plays for Saracens, where he made his first Premiership start in a victory over Sale Sharks in 2022. He also represented England at the 2023 Rugby World Cup and the 2024 Six Nations. Theo is a scholar of the King's Sport & Wellness Performance Programme, which provides student-athletes with a support network to help them perform to the highest level possible in their academic and sporting careers.
Francis Jones
MA STEM Education, 2022
Francis is the founder and CEO of STEM@Home, a STEM EdTech startup that aims to make a high-quality science education fully accessible for all students through Artificial Intelligence and custom-designed science equipment. Francis has recently scooped a national award from Innovate UK, the UK's innovation agency, receiving a £50,000 grant and 12 months of tailored business support. The prestigious award will support him to grow his innovative business idea.
